Coming Discontinued Rolex watches

Although it gives us a new reference number, the Air-King Ref. 116900 is not so much retired as replaced, with the latest Ref. 126900 taking over. The outgoing watch has been around since 2016, a comeback after a brief complete hiatus in 2014, and its run dates back to the middle of the Second World War.
But, longest-serving name in the replica Rolex catalog or not, the Air-King has always been a very popular name, gaining far less of a following than the Submariner or the Daytona. In fact, due to its status as the forgotten Rolex, many predicted that the model would be quietly phased out of existence this year. Instead, it was granted an upgrade, with the new reference benefiting from a redesigned case with crown protection, a thinner bezel resulting in a larger dial, and a new generation of Cal. 3230.
The original Yachtmaster collection has received much attention lately; this year is no exception. It is available in two sizes, in a range of metals and bracelets, including Rolex’s first attempt at a rubber strap, the Oysterflex.
Interestingly, the most understated variant, the Ref. 116689 in white gold with platinum bezel, is the one that was eliminated this year. Why fake Rolex decided to retire the most versatile piece in the collection is another mystery. Still, its materials do make it the most expensive option in a collection that was never very popular in the first place.
However, these watches are available on the used market for around, if not below, the official retail price – not something you can say about every Rolex Sports model. Now, whether that will change, we don’t know, but educated guesses suggest that it is quite possible.
Finally, Rolex seems to have acknowledged the failure of the Cellini line, which is their line of pure dress watches.
It’s been a long time coming. As beautiful as these pieces are, they stick out a bit, retaining a few of Rolex’s most important design principles, and don’t even qualify for an Oyster case.
The 2022 bids farewell to the two pure time models and the two time-date models, leaving only the wonderful Ref. 50535 Moonphase. With its 39 mm stellar case and white lacquered dial, this is the last Cellini watch and a stunning piece in its own right.

What else is unique about Rolex watches? Well, the Rolex “Kermit” Submariner ref. 16610LV is the first time any color other than black has appeared in a stainless steel Submariner. It is also the first time the company’s signature green color has appeared in the collection. Please note: this bezel is made of aluminum, known to fade. However, this does not seem to have stopped collectors from taking an interest in this unique piece of replica Rolex history.
Isn’t she beautiful? Featuring an exceptionally robust 904L stainless steel case and bracelet with a luxurious platinum dial and bezel, this Yachtmaster is a top example of Rolex’s ability to combine form and function. Originally designed as a luxury watch for sailors, this 40mm watch has a rotating sandblasted platinum bezel that times regattas and can withstand 100 meters of water resistance. You may wonder what the difference between this watch and the Submariner is, other than water resistance. The Yacht Prestige has a bi-directional chronograph bezel and can rotate in both directions.
In addition, it will look great on your wrist on any occasion. Significantly more stately and dignified, the Yacht Prestige offers its own sporty and luxurious appeal that you will never want to take off. With its unique sandblasted textured platinum dial, this model is no longer in production, so the only way to get it is through the secondary market.
When fake Rolex decided to update the GMT-Master in the mid-2000s, their new models, like this Rolesor (two-tone) Ref. 116713, became instant classics. It is one of the most sought-after modern second-hand watches today, and since Baselworld 2019, Rolex is only making the two-tone GMT-Master II watch in Everose pink gold (no yellow gold option). So don’t let this one go unnoticed!
Also, this one is a collector’s favorite when it comes to pre-owned GMT-Master II watches. First of all, collectors love the more extensive “Super Case” and “Super Dial” because it has wider lugs, and the dial has more significant luminous hour markers and more comprehensive hands on top. Please note: the case itself is still 40mm.
However, its size and temperament set this watch apart. The Datejust II is loathed and loved, with a noticeably larger case and rounder than the typical Datejust. Because of this, it is an excellent choice for those looking for something a little more distinctive on their wrist. In addition, since it’s no longer in production, it’s an excellent collector’s item that’s part of Rolex’s history and can be kept in your watch box.
